VISITATION GUIDELINES

1. Reservations is per vehicle.
Space at the nursery is limited, but you may bring as many guests as you can safely fit in your car. The reservation fee will be credited towards your purchase of plants at the nursery. Think of it as a minimum purchase to visit the nursery, but you pay it ahead of time to secure your spot.

After submitting your reservation fee, your name will automatically be included on the guest list. You will also receive an order confirmation, so check your inbox or spam folder.

The reservation fee is refundable up to 72 hours prior to the event. If you need to cancel with less than 72-hour notice, the fee will be applied only as store credit for online purchases. Please sign up only if you are certain of attending.

2. Directions are sent via email on Thursday prior to your weekend reservation.
We understand you might want the directions earlier than that. To limit the number of emails we send out, we provide directions when we send out reminders a few days prior to the event. For an estimate on your drive time to get here, use Google Maps to get to Eagle Creek, Oregon (97022) from your location.

3. Visit us only during your scheduled reservation.
We are on residential property and allow visitors on the premises only during approved scheduled visits. Please respect the privacy of those who live here. Unscheduled visits will be declined. Sorry, no exceptions.

4. Wear appropriate clothing for the weather.
The nursery is open air with some shelter. If it's hot and sunny, you'll sweat. If it rains, you'll get wet. The walkways are non-paved, so wear proper shoes. We will provide complimentary refreshments. A portable toilet will be available onsite. Eagle Creek Saloon is located next door if you want to have a meal.

5. Keep your dogs at home.
We have two nursery dogs on the premises who enjoy playing fetch with anyone who's willing to throw a ball. However, because they are not familiar with your dog and this is their territory, we cannot predict how they will interact. For everyone's safety and peace of mind, please keep your pets at home. There isn't any shaded parking, so we also strongly discourage leaving pets in cars during your visit.

Certified service dogs on service harnesses and trained to perform a specific task are welcomed. Please let us know in advance.

    Beautiful plants, fun time

Posted by Lou Paloma on August 21, 2017

Visiting the open house is an opportunity to see some beautiful plants in person and meet and talk with the owners. They're very knowledgeable and friendly. Still I wish there were some bigger discounts at the event, especially on specimen plants in the "off limits" pools. I'd recommend it and look to going back at different times in the season. ***RESPONSE BY SARRACENIA NORTHWEST*** Thank you for visiting us! The largest discounts are offered at the last open house of the season. That's when we also let go of very large mother plants. So, definitely come visit us in September!

    Sadly, I was disappointed

Posted by Sadness on August 20, 2017

I am not sure what was going on, but I had to stand in line for at least 10 minutes to check out. Once to Jacob, I picked out one of the small plants that I thought was a gift for each car and he tried to charge me 10 dollars for it. I was not that happy of a camper when I had to correct him. Why send a PDF with directions that said each guest in the car got a free plant if you are going to sell them? Also the selection wasn't that great... Maybe it was due to the weather this year. All in all, this time was disappointing because the hosts seemed in a bad mood. I went to one two years ago that was just a great experience through and through. This one this year could be placed in nightmare tier. Sorry, but not sure if I will try another one anytime soon. I gave the two stars just for the plants since they are beautiful, but the rest of the experience was just ugly so no stars for any of that. ***RESPONSE BY SARRACENIA NORTHWEST*** Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding the open house. We're terribly sorry that you had less than an awesome experience. There are many factors that go into putting on these events, and unfortunately, we weren't as prepared as we were in the past, and you definitely noticed it. When we are done for the season, we will review the open houses and determine what changes we need to make for next season so that everyone's experience is consistent and equally enjoyable. We perfectly understand if you choose not to attend future open houses. We will have other events in the Portland area, so you could visit us there. Please check the events calendar for more information, though the schedule for 2018 isn't yet finalized.

    Great experience

Posted by Alice Acker on August 20, 2017

Jeff and Jacob were superb hosts. Loved the chance to mingle with them and other c.p. growers and experts, and to see the Sarracinea NW operation. I learned some useful tips, and was able to add some nice c.p. groupings to my collection. Thanks!!

    Great time at Open House

Posted by Christy Spencer on August 21, 2016

Your Open House was a fun experience, I brought a friend who did not have any plants but was interested in starting a colletion. Excellent information and lots of help with questions if needed. Refreshments and lunch were excellent. I look forward to doing this again.

It's always a pleasure to come to your gardens and see all the beautiful plants growing and so healthy and to add to my collection. Some day my will grow up to be big and beautiful too.

    Open House

Posted by Kathy Gleason on August 21, 2016

Your Open House impressed the three of us. The hospitality of being treated as "part of the picnic" was appreciated. Seeing these beautiful plants up close has hooked all in our party to a new hobby. Have asked a few questions in person as well as on-line of Jeff and have been well served with his answers.

Amazing. The kids loved it and devoured the hot dogs. I bought a bunch of plants for my classroom. Thank you so much.

    Open House

My trip to the Sarracenia Northwest Open House was very enjoyable. It is always nice to be able to chat with Jeff and Jacob in person. Everyone who can do so should attend at least one of these events - especially if new to growing carnivorous plants.

    Awesome cp nursery!

Posted by AH on August 20, 2016

This was awesome, you don't get the chance to look at so many awesome cp plants very often. The employees and owners are very nice and knowledgable. They helped me find the right plants for me and made sure I knew how to take care of them! I will defiantly be going back and buying a lot more plants.

    Beautiful Plants Lots of Info

Posted by Marsha Tobey on October 16, 2015

Second open house for me and five new plants! I now have lucky 13 living in pots in large water saucers. They all seem really happy and are turning their fall colors. Made for a fun afternoon.
