This mix contains equal parts dried sphagnum moss and perlite.
All ingredients are guaranteed to be free of fertilizers and other contaminants that may harm carnivorous plants. Soil mix is shipped dried. Moisten thoroughly before using. Use this mix for the following plants for the following tropical pitcher plants:
- Brocchinia: Bromeliad
- Cephalotus: Australian Pitcher
- Heliamphora: Sun Pitcher
- Nepenthes: SE Asian Pitcher
A gallon of soil will fill:
- one 8-inch pot or
- two 6-inch pots or
- six 4-inch pots

Exactly how it looks
You get exactly what you see in the picture - a ziplock bag with two ingredients. I ordered this when I was ordering soil to repot my latest plants. This? Is not soil. In the videos, the grower admits to not enjoying working with this moss, which I get. We are all gardeners and we all play in dirt. However, I think even Gordon Ramsey would be upset if he ordered a steak and was presented with a slab of beef and a spice rack. If I wanted moss and perlite, I would order those. I ordered soil that I could easily grab during my potting, not two ingredients I had to take the time to mix myself. Very disappointed. Only getting two stars because they’re quality ingredients.

Carnivorous plants, especially Nepenthes, require this soil- only sphaghnum moss and perlite. This store has lower prices for more soil. Amazed at how much moss and perlite this is. Great product, great store. Couldn't be happier.

Tropical Pitcher Plant Soil Mix
This is a great way to transplant your tropical pitchers without having to buy all the separate, individual ingredients! There's enough inside to transplant one large, or two small plants . Rated 4 stars, as I believe no matter what, there is always room for improvement. This company is fantastic, non-the-less. Their customer service is top-notch and each plant I have received from them have been beautifully packaged and arrived safely at my doorstep. The customer service is also top-notch. They are always happy to answer any questions you may have about the plants. They also include very detailed instructions on how to care for each plant, but if you still have questions, the growers are always very happy to help! Thank you all for healthy, thriving plants, and the supplies I need to keep them thriving!
