Gorgeous plant!
My plant arrived in perfect condition and was larger than I expected. Packing was superb. I am very happy with this order.
Sarracenia rosea, a denizen of the hot wetlands of the Florida panhandle, appreciates hot summers and long growing seasons. In spring when pitchers first emerge, leaves are a striking translucent cream color with a hint of pink. By early fall, the plant transforms into a rosette of large, truly voluptuous pitchers, crimson colored and just slightly velvety. In winter, S. rosea will go dormant and will drop its leaves during significant frost. Look for light pink flowers in mid to late spring. Although we categorize this plant as an outdoor perennial. this is one of the few North American pitcher plants which we have found to be growable year-round indoors on a windowsill, without a dormancy. We've successfully been growing this species in a south-facing kitchen window for several years. The plant is almost 18 inches across! So, if you have a window with lots of direct sunlight and you live in a region with lots of snow, you can try growing this plant indoors instead.

To differentiate this plant from its close relative Sarracenia purpurea ssp. venosa, Sarracenia rosea has a fatter lip and fewer undulations to the lid, and bears pink flowers. Sarracenia rosea is sometimes also referred to as Sarracenia purpurea ssp. venosa var. burkii, or "Burke's Pitcher Plant".

Water
Use mineral-free water or water low in minerals (less than 50 parts per million). Keep the soil wet by setting the plant in a dish of standing water.
Soil
Use 1 part peat moss and 1 part perlite (or washed river sand). Avoid fertilizers, regular garden soil, and compost.
Growing Season:
April - October. Pitchers will brown at the onset of winter dormancy.
Winter Care:
Hardy of winter frost. Mulch in USDA zones 7 and colder.

A bit small, but in good shape and growing well. RESPONSE FROM SARRACENIA NORTHWEST: Thanks for your recent purchase! Keep in mind that this species grows very slowly is usually smaller when ordered in spring. (We grow all Sarracenia outdoors at our nursery in Oregon.) They will get much larger and look their best in late season. Given your warm summer climate, you will have a large plant by October!

I put these outside and kept water on these. I have had one of the two not make it. The remaining one looks great.
