This fantastic cross combines the best of both worlds: the light-windows and translucence of Sarracenia leucophylla, with the stout form and vigor of S. oreophila. A truly rewarding beauty, it produces many full-sized pitchers with generously wide mouths. The upper portions of the trap are dotted with light windows, so that in the sun they catch light and glow like fat green lanterns! During the hottest parts of summer, the plant will take a short siesta. In late summer when the weather cools, look for a fresh set of larger pitchers for the fall season. Produces many stunning red flowers in spring. Pitchers on a mature plant reach 16 inches.

Water: Low-mineral water (50 ppm or less).
Soil: Equal parts peat moss and perlite only.

2nd Season Divisions
After dividing our mother plants in spring, we grow the divisions for a year before releasing them. You get a more vigorous plant with a healthier root system when compared to a recent division.
All outdoor perennials experience seasonal changes at our nursery in Oregon.
• January-March: Plant is dormant with no pitchers.
• April: Spring growth will appear by the end of the month.
• May: Fully developed pitchers will start to appear.
• June: Full display of pitchers. This plant will look its best!
• July-August: Plant will slow down when it’s hot. Some minor spotting.
• September-October: Dormancy begins. Fewer pitchers. No new growth until spring.
• November-December: Plant is dormant. Browned pitchers are cut off.

Awesome
My 17 year old son wanted to get involved with our COVID-19 new garden. He thought it needed carnivorous plants to help keep the insects out. These are perfect!! They are growing really well and we already have new sprouts. My son read books and articles to learn how to best care for them and replant them into bigger pots because they are getting so big. A great addition to our garden!

Sundews & Pitcher Plants
These are my first carnivorous plant, not counting venus fly traps I got as a kid. I'm very pleased with the speed they arrived and all in great condition. Plenty of growing instructions were included. All of them are still alive and thriving (pitcher plants are planted outside and are dormant now, but healthy).
