This desirable form of S. leucophylla has especially stout traps, with a cavernous mouth that makes for a substantial pitcher. Like many forms of S. leucophylla, Lil' Big Mouth is a tough plant and will keep its autumn leaves well into winter. It can still be seen even after heavy snow, peeking out of the drifts! It's spring pitchers, however, are wispy compared to the pitchers of late summer and fall. That's when this plant produces its largest and showiest pitchers. The patient gardener will be rewarded with a show-stopping plant in late season.

2nd Season Divisions
After dividing our mother plants in spring, we grow the divisions for a year before releasing them. You get a more vigorous plant with a healthier root system when compared to a recent division.

All outdoor perennials experience seasonal changes at our nursery in Oregon.
January-March: Plant is dormant with no pitchers.
April: Spring growth will appear by the end of the month.
May: Early season pitchers are often thin and wispy.
June-August: Non-carnivorous leaves may appear alongside thin pitchers.
September: Stunning vibrant pitchers finally appear.
October: Dormancy begins. Fewer pitchers. No new growth until spring.
November-December: Plant is dormant. Browned pitchers are cut off.

This came with the small mouth variety. Interesting stoma (mouth), the wider to catch bugs. Very healthy.
