Sarracenia Rhizome Care

You will need the following:
• Appropriate sized plastic pots.
• Soil mix of equal parts peat moss and perlite. (Never use fertilizer, compost, or regular potting soil.)

1. Remove your rhizome from the bag and wrapper.
2. Fill your pot with thoroughly moistened soil (peat moss and perlite).
3. Make a hole in the center of the pot. The hole should be large enough to accommodate the roots and rhizome.
4. Take your rhizome, and orient the roots down into the hole.
5. Situate the rhizome so that the growing point (crown) is resting slightly above soil level. Never bury the crown.
6. Tamp the soil around the roots and rhizome to secure in place.
7. Follow the winter care instructions and general growing instructions provided with your rhizomes. Watch the videos below for more information.
