Nepenthes zakriana, Ray Triplitt (Rooted Cutting)
This clone was first introduced in cultivation by Ray Triplitt (often misspelled as Triplett) in 1978. It was first identified as N. fusca, but that species was later broken up into three different species - fusca, dactylifera, and zakriana. Based on its appearance and origins, Triplitt's plant was reidentified as N. zakriana.
This clone is much sought-after by Nepenthes collectors because of its unique coloration that is unlike other specimens more commonly found in cultivation. It has dark pitchers with cream mottling. The peristome is tricolored. The upper pitchers are funnel-shaped with red mottling and features a striped peristome. The plant is male.
