Nepenthes Peter D'Amato (Rooted Cutting)
Named after the acclaimed carnivorous plant grower and author Peter D'Amato, this simple hybrid of Nepenthes ventricosa and N. lowii is an absolute showstopper. Lower pitchers are stout and squat, so red they're almost black, with bristles under the lid and a ridged peristome. The upper pitchers are not as darkly colored as the lower pitchers when they first open, but they are very rigid and gourd-like. The interior is glossy red and slippery. The entire pitcher is shaped bulbous-shaped with a tight waist. This plant grows perfectly as a houseplant. After acclimating to its new home, 'Peter D'Amato' can produce pitchers that last up to 6 months!

Healthy cutting, no pitchers yet
I received this very healthy cutting in a timely manner. In fact, at my request, Sarracenia Northwest delayed sending the cutting to better fit my schedule (Thank You). As of now (04/16/2019) the plant is growing strong and putting on new leaves, but has not yet formed any new pitchers. That may be an environmental issue, as I do not have a greenhouse to grow my plants in. I have all my Nepenthes inside my house, growing inside separate glass or plastic containers to maintain higher humidity levels. This N. x Peter D'Amato is inside a six-gallon, large-mouth carboy. I am sure the humidity is high enough, I just may not have figured out the correct temperature and light levels yet to get it to pitcher.

Large, healthy cutting
This plant is usually very expensive and hard to find. SNW's cuttings were large and reasonably priced. Can't wait to see it grow!

Couldn’t be happier with this order, the plan came in looking fantastic with no damage. Looking forward to see this plant take off once the weather clears.

Nepenthes
Awesome plants, never skipped a beat from environmental change. They made good on their guarantee when the post office baked one of the plans for three days .
