Looking for something unusual and exotic? This Indonesian species has pitchers shaped like a toilet! The plant has been affectionately named jamban, which means toilet in Indonesian. Pitchers are typically no more than 4 inches tall and range from reddish orange to green. Lower pitchers are stout and richly colored, while upper pitchers are typically bowl-shaped and slightly paler. The plant produces long rambling vines, and many growers have been successful growing this plant like a houseplant. However, the plant appreciates mild days (upper 70s) and cool nights (upper 50s to the low 60s). You'll see it produce more pitchers in fall and winter than in summer. Give this plant bright filtered sunlight.

Type of Plant: Tropical pitcher plant for windowsill growing.
Pitcher Size Up to 4 inches.
Sunlight: Bright filtered to partial sun.
Water: Low-mineral water (50 ppm or less).
Soil: Equal parts dried sphagnum moss and perlite.
Temperatures: Above 70°F during the day. Nighttime temperature of 50°-60°F is highly recommended for optimal growth. Always protect from frost.

Rooted Cuttings
Plants grown via rooted cutting often produce larger plants quicker than plants grown from seed or tissue culture. They are also genetically identical to its mother plant.

    Excellent!

I bought my Nepenthes Jamban at the annual potluck in 2016. In 6 months the plant was over 18 inches tall and hit my grow light. It made some beautiful pitchers while it was climbing, but unfortunately died back to two small basal shoots when it hit the grow light. Great plant at a great price, I just messed up!

    Excellent, Superb Experience!

The plant was excellent, the packing was superb, better than any plant shipment I've ever received. Jeff and Jacob do a wonderful job, and I will order from them again in the future. Their attention to detail, specifically to weather conditions at the plant's destination before shipment, ensures that top-quality plants are received with no surprises. I highly recommend this company!
