This species is quite elegant. Pitchers are upright with a slight curve and a slight indentation in the middle. The hoods flare gracefully and will color up nicely in consistent bright lighting. Under artificial lights, pitchers will develop a tantalizing orange hue when they first open. Over time, they turn green. Pitcher production isn't as vigorous as other species or hybrids, but that also contributes to the overall elegance of this plant. On a mature plant, pitchers will reach up to 8 inches. For all divisions, we wait until there is at least one new open pitcher on a plant before offering it for sale. This can take up to 6 months. To prep plants for sale, we cut off all pitchers that have significantly discolored during the acclimation process, so a plant might have fewer pitchers than normal. Some order leaves left on a plant may still be mildly discolored. This is a normal process as they age. Plants will develop a full set of pitchers within another 6-12 months.

General Care
Type of Plant: Tropical pitcher plant for windowsill growing.
Native Habitat: Flat mountain tops of Venezuela.
Sunlight: Partial to full sun, or strong fluorescent lights.
Water: Low-mineral water (50 ppm or less). Allow water to drain through.
Soil: Equal parts dried sphagnum moss and perlite. No garden soil, compost, or fertilizer.
Temperatures: Mild day temperatures. Avoid excessive heat and scorching sunlight. Nighttime drop of 15°- 20° is recommended. Always protect from frost.
