This eye-catching plant gets up to 3 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter. Its uniform shape gives it the appearance of a miniature tree. The only difference, of course, is that this tree sparkles in sunlight! In the wild, this sundew is found in parts of boggy areas that are often flooded with an inch or two of water.  In cultivation, keep the water level fairly high, about 3/4 of the way up the pot. In winter, the leaves will die back, and the plant will form a resting bud sitting at soil level. Growth will resume in mid-spring.

Type of Plant: Outdoor perennial for container growing.
Leaves: 3-4 inches at maturity.
Sunlight: Partial to full sun during the growing season.
Water: Low-mineral water (50 ppm or less).
Soil: Equal parts peat moss and perlite only.
Winter: Dormant. Minimal protection in USDA zones 7-9. Mulch in colder regions.

Seasonal Appearance and Monthly Care Video

All outdoor experience seasonal changes at our nursery in Oregon.
• January-March: Plant is dormant in a resting bud state.
• April: Spring growth will appear by the end of the month.
• May: More leaves appear, but not yet full size.
• June-August: Full display of dewy leaves.
• September-October: Dormancy begins. Plant drops its leaves. Growth resumes in spring.
• November-December: Plant is dormant in a resting bud state.

    Tiny little thing. Growing well, though. Recommend you adding text about the ultimate small size. RESPONSE BY SARRACENIA NORTHWEST: Thank you for your business! The adult size of the plant is mentioned in the description, 3-4 inches. We also grow the plant outdoors, so it is also coming out of dormancy, which is explained in the literature provided with your plant. Some plants come out of dormancy really fast, others take their time, such as this species. It'll grow faster when the weather is consistently warm.

    This is a nice sundew...Arrived in perfect condition and quickly regained its dew within 3 days. Lots of leaves that look awesome in the sunlight.

    My D. Intermedia came with dew on the leaves and was catching little prey the first day.It's been non stop growth since then.One of the best packing jobs ever.

    A cute little sundew that I always liked despite its rather small size. Usually I don't like buying small sundews but there is something about this sundew that reels me in. It surprises me as well of what it catches as well. It catches insects that you wouldn't think it would be able to catch but it does. Overall it's a very easy sundew as with all north American plants. RECOMMENDED

    Large, healthy specimen with multiple new seedlings emerging. Example was beginning to flower as well. Seems to be the stem-forming variety from the Eastern seaboard of the US, probably originating from the NJ Pine Barrens I would guess
