Red Dragon doing great.
Great service
This flytrap features red leaves and traps. Young plants are bright red throughout. As the plant matures, it turns maroon with a green margin along the edge of the traps. Despite its attractive red leaves, this particular variety is temperamental. It dislikes root disturbance, and it dislikes excessive heat. (Other varieties of flytraps are much more resilient.) In winter, it will also drop all of its leaves, leaving nothing to show. The Red Dragon Flytrap is best for growers who have experience growing the more typical variety.
Type of Plant: Outdoor perennial for container growing.
Height: Up to 4 inches at maturity.
Sunlight: Full sun during the growing season. (The Red Dragon Flytrap likes full sun but dislikes excessive heat. So it's most suitable to regions with sunny yet moderate summers.)
Water: Low-mineral water (50 ppm or less).
Soil: Equal parts peat moss and perlite only.
Winter: Dormant. Minimal protection in USDA zones 7-9. Mulch in colder regions.

Great service
My Dionaea M. arrived wrapped carefully, and happily, 2 days earlier than expected.I was extremely happy to see the condition of the plant. Absolutely beautiful. This company is fantastic in every way imagineable.
Received healthy. Packaged nicely
Great looking plants that came to me very healthy and well packed for shipping
The plant was smaller than expected. I planted it and it died back but it put some growth.
Tricky thing, "size". Pot size comparable to plant size. This thing is tiny inside this pot, but seems healthy. Traps aren't open, but they seem to be alive. I'm exited for spring. *** RESPONSE BY SARRACENIA NORTHWEST *** Thank you for your purchase! Yes, flytraps are naturally smaller in winter when they're dormant. They will produce larger traps in spring when growth resumes. Make sure to follow the winter care info included with the plant. Enjoy!
The Red Dragon arrived in great shape. I have moved it to its new home, gradually. And even though it’s getting chilly, it’s doing well!
I’ve ordered several plants and they all arrive in excellent condition. Very well packed.
Same review for all plants on this order. They arrived quickly and were healthy and clearly established. Very happy with this and past orders and look forward to future orders.
The product came right on time, was expertly packed, and the plant is doing really well.
They came delivered ok but died after a week. *** RESPONSE FROM SARRACENIA NORTHWEST *** I'm sorry that the plant didn't make it! Every plant comes with a 30-day guarantee. We only ask that you follow the care guide that was included with your plant. We are also available to assist you in any way we can. I checked my email and didn't see any message from you. So without knowing how you cared for your plant, I'm afraid I don't know how to proceed. You're still welcome to reach out to us to figure out what went wrong.
I was really excited to get this flytrap. Its huge and I love the color! It's growing great outside, is catching a ton of flies. Its amazing. As with my other plants, I will be getting more in the near future.
