Dionaea muscipula King Henry Flytrap

This variety of flytrap produces upright yellow traps. The mouths of the traps have a splash of reddish orange. It grows very vigorously and sends up multiple traps at once. It also produces larger than normal traps when it matures, up to 1 1/2 inches. Because of the long petioles, the leaves flop over due to the weight of the large traps. This is probably why it was called King Henry!

This batch are divisions from a 10-year old colony that we divided in spring. You can watch us divide the colony on our YouTube channel.

    Wonderful!

Posted by Joel C. on November 3, 2013

This is the store I chose to buy from because they had very good reviews. I am glad to be adding to the list of satisfied customer reviews because they really had very nice plants and exceptional customer service. My package of Sarracenia x Judith Hindle & VFT x King Henry arrived a day earlier than I expected , and even after 2 days of transit, my plants looked very healthy and the soil and root system didn't seem disturbed at all. They really took time to wrap the plants carefully, and even with the height of the Sarracenia they sent me, they managed to ensure that none of the taller pitchers will be bent or damaged upon arrival. The media was intact and moist, so I did not have to deal with plant shock during transit. Now, both plants are thriving in my balcony. Thank you very much, Sarracenia Northwest for the wonderful plants !

I ordered this plant and as always it arrived in excellent condition and was a very nice plant, I planted it and there was no transplant shock do to it being potted very well and delivered fast, it has since grew several large traps and one was big enough that it caught a large red wasper in it. I can say that it is a awesome plant well worth the money. Thanks Guys

    King Henry vft

Posted by Carson T. on September 22, 2013

I've always been skeptical of my ability to grow vfts but this year I'm finally secure in the knowledge that I too can possess a monster plant rivaling even the beast at California Carnivores. Jeff's and Jacob's stock is healthier than CCs. It's also bigger than the plants I saw there. I got a juvenile in spring of this year and by August it was bigger than one of D'Amato's B52 show plants! Long petioles in ratio to traps. Very robust, like a shark. After growing CPs for 12 years I give this plant 5 stars.
